Times NIE Newsmakers Meet

Harshit Sharma of class XII and Kanika Prashar attended the most awaited event of the Times NIE `Newsmakers Meet' along with their English teacher Ms. Deepa Chawla at Sri Sathya Sai International Center, Lodhi Road, New Delhi. The event commenced with a short quiz regarding current affairs and went on with a story writing session. It was really informative. The event was followed up by a mock press conference of the students with four eminentpersonalities - Ms. Poonam Singh, national editor of Times NIE, Ms. Archana Garodia Gupta, a leading author and quizmaster, Anil Kumar, former Indian test cricketer and Mr. Puneet Jain, VP TOI group. This round was very interactive and gave students hands on the unusual experience of journalism. The participants were also inspired by their life time stories and success mantra shared by them. It was really an informative and a thrilling opportunity for the participants. They were applauded for their wonderful performance and received T-shirts, gift vouchers and certificates.

Celebraring 150th Anniversary

Celebrating the 150th birth anniversary of the man who inspired the nation to fight colonial rule, budding enthusiasts of Maharaja Agrasen Model School, CD Block, Pitampura, commemorated a day to the Father of the Nation- Mahatma Gandhi through their annual extravaganza Laut Aao Bapu- The Story of the Mahatma Retold by students of classes I to III on February 2, 2019.
The day commenced with the ceremonial lamp lighting by the honorable Chief Guest Dr.Mukesh Verma, an eminent pediatrician and proud alumnus of the school, the laudable members of the School Management along with the Principal and Vice Principal. The School Manager Shri R.K. Bansal accorded a warm welcome to the august gathering. The occasion was also graced by the members of the School Management. The Principal Madam Pratibha Kohli in her speech appreciated the sheer hard work put in by the 580 tiny tots and encouraged everyone to reignite nationalism and strive together to build a new and resurgent India.
Paying tribute to our holy land, our motherland India, students of class I echoed the onset of a divine environment and invoked the motherland with Priyam Bharatam: an invocation. The literary pilgrimage was traversed with a sequence of events, strung together with music and dance performances in the form of a skit, showcasing the transformation of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi into the Mahatma.
Students of class III paid tribute to the invincible soul, or Bapu as we fondly call him, with Sabarmati ke Sant- the prophet of peace reincarnated. With Raghupati Raghav- the making of Moniya to Mohan students of class II entered the world of living Gandhi endowed with immense possibilities. Gandhiji's extraordinary deeds came to the fore with Black o' White- a mission against apartheid. Vaishnav Jan- the message of empathy harped on the delicate chords of humanity and proposed everyone to empathise with other human beings. Spreading the essence of Gandhian values Bapu ki Lathi- Gandhigiri and Bapu ke Bandar- the Mahatma's wise monkeys proved to be an eye-opener. Ishwar Allah- evoking social harmony pleads for unity in diversity. Advocating swadeshi and the use of the hand woven National fabric of India- Khadi, Bharat Ki Pehchaan- the khadi fiesta proved to be the showstopper. Bande me tha Dum- saluting the Mahatma reiterated relevance of Bapu's principles even today through a tricolour human formation of the number 150.
The Chief Guest in his speech expressed his delight for being witness to the gala event at his alma mater and urged one and all to pay tribute to Gandhiji by following his ideals in letter and spirit.
The event culminated with the Vote of Thanks proposed by the Vice Principal Madam Simmi Bhatia who complimented the students for their determination and hardwork and extended a heartfelt appeal to bring preaching into practice and work towards the betterment of our motherland.

64th National School Games 2018-2019 was held at Rajnandgaon ,Chhattisgarh from 27th to 30th December 2018 organised by School Games Federation of India . Two YONGMUDOS MAMSIANS

2) KIRTIKA of class IX - B

Represent Delhi State in the National Championship. They secured 2nd and 3 rd place in the respective championship. The players were awarded a Silver and Bronze medal and certificate of merit along with the scholarship of Rs.7500 and Rs.5000 that will be given by Sports Authority of India.

Mathematical Modelling Competition (level II)

It is a great pleasure to inform you that our two students of class XIth , Aditi Mittal and Himanshi, who participated in Mathematical Modelling Competition (level II) organized by Directorate of Education NCT Delhi held at Science Centre No. 1, SU Block Pitampura are being selected for State Level Science Exhibition for the model "CORRUGATED CLASSROOM".

Inter School Band Competition 2018

Inter School Band Competition organised by MHRD and DOE was held at chattersal stadium model town Delhi on November 15,2018 The MAMSIAN secured Second place in the competition.

Inter Zonal Volleyball 2018

Date : November 11,2018 to November15,2018

Inter Zonal Volleyball championship was held at GBSSS. SU block Pitam Pura Delhi from November 11,2018 to November15,2018 organised by Delhi School Sports and Cultural Activities Board Directorate of Education GNCT of Delhi. Abhinav Bisht of class VIII B Participated in Volleyball team Boys under 14 years were participated in the Championship. Our zone team secured First place in the championship. The players were awarded by Rs. 1000 each ,Gold medal and a certificate of merit.

DISTRICT LEVEL DECLAMATION COMPETITION

DATE-16 October ,2018

Arya Madan brought laurels to the school by bagging III position in the District Level Declamation Competition held on 16 October.She competed against 10 other participants and made the school proud

Achievement - AIM SIRIUS Innovex

Satyam Prakash, Class XII student of Maharaja Agrasen Model School worked on an Indo Russian collaborative project (AIM SIRIUS Innovex) from September 30 to October 5, 2018. He worked in the Boot Camp at IIT Delhi along with Indian students, Indian mentors(IIT Delhi & Niti Ayog), Russian students and Russian mentors. Satyam has put in a lot of effort for this collaborative project and has been working day and night. Today, in the afternoon, Satyam and his team got an opportunity to showcase the project to Honorable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Honourable President Shri Vladimir Putin. It is a great honour for our school that Satyam worked on an international project and our best wishes are with him.

Ramakrishna Mission Scholarship

Kritika Kumari of class XII-E was awarded scholarship of Rs 1500/- on August 16,2018 by Ramakrishna Mission. She was selected on the basis of her academic performance of last three years.

ZONAL ENGLISH DECLAMATION

Arya Madan of class XII- D and Ashi Rana of class VIII- B participated in the Zonal English Declamation that was held in Lions Public School, Ashok Vihar ,phase I. Arya Madan got accolades by wining the first position in the same. She will be competing for the district level in the coming months.

Our students Parth and Siddhi prepared a presentation on the topic Polygons on Microsoft Sway. It was prepared under the Guidance of Ms. Vasudha Gupta. The presentation showed the application of polygons in real life. Hexagons are the polygons that tessellates best ,hence we found its implication in nature as well as in manmade things. A two minute video of the students was also recorded on the same topic. The presentation stood third in the competition among all the participating schools.

NFLAT (MERIT HOLDERS) 2017-18

NCFE [National Centre for Financial Education] conducts National Financial Literacy Assessment Test (NFLAT) to further the cause of financial literacy in India. It motivates the school students of classes VI to XII to learn the concepts of finance and inculcate the habit of savings among the children. The test was conducted on December 12, 2017 from 12 noon to 1 p.m. in offline mode in the Schoool. The students have been awarded participation certificate for it. Merit certificates have also been awarded for outstanding performance in the Test to following four students- Nishant Aggarwal - Class X Parth Jindal - Class X Madhav Mittal - Class XI Anshuman Aggarwal - Class XII The exam created awareness among the students so that they can learn an important life skill at an early age leading to sound financial decisions in future.

Van Mahotsav

MAHARAJA AGRASEN MODEL SCHOOL ,CD BLOCK ,PITAMPURA celebrated VANMAHOTSAV from July 30 ,2018 to August 04, 2018 with an aim to raise awareness amongst the ardent and fervent nature lovers to introspect and formulate the constructive strategies for the welfare of the blue planet. The weeklong Vanmahotsav celebration culminated on August 4,2018 with inter school competitions which provided vigorous, peppy and vibrant rostrum for thinking and creative minds to essay their deep-rooted talents, diverse faculties and aptitude. This year it comprised of a plethora of activities based on the Sustainable Development Goals set up by the United Nations.The captivating array of events included: TATTOO TALK(ENGLISH), POSTER MAKING (SOCIAL SCIENCE),LET’S SUSTAIN TANGRAMICALLY(MATHEMATICS),ATL ACTIVITY(STEM) –SCIENCE,BROCHURE MAKING (COMMERCE),KAVITA VACHAN (HINDI),ORIGAMI(ARTS) , MONO ACTING (PERFORMING ARTS) INCLUSIVE AND EQUITABLE QUALITY EDUCATION (SWAY PRESENTATION) and GREEN COMPUTING(POWER POINT PRESENTATION) The inter-school competitions saw buoyant participation from various schools in & around the vicinity that showed students' contribution of blowing the conch as the clarion call for making the earth a greener planet. The environment sensitive brigade from various schools gathered and put their foot down to think, create and innovate for the resurrection of the earth which has crumbled under the ruthless actions of the mankind. Participants from different schools donned their best & were much-admired for their enthusiastic and zealous participation. The host school also took out an AWARENESS MARCH on August 03,2018 raising slogans & urging citizens to contribute their bit to save the environment. The march was flagged off by the school Principal, Dr. Pratibha Kohli. Tree Plantation Drive was another gesture shown by the students of Preprimary wing under the able guidance of the school Principal and their teachers. The school also carried out a plethora of intra- school activities which included PAMPHLET MAKING, POSTER MAKING, POEM RECITATION, SLOGAN WRITING, BEST OUT OF WASTE – making eco-friendly articles from waste material, COLLAGE MAKING and MAKING OF ECO FRIENDLY BAGS. The enthusiastic students showcased their talent and spread the message to BEAT PLASTIC POLLUTION and contribute to the Swachh Bharat Mission. The gala event came to an end with the Prize Distribution Ceremony in which the School Principal Dr. Pratibha Kohli & Vice Principal Ms. Simmi Bhatia congratulated Mamsians for winning the Over All Trophy which was passed on to Indraprastha World School , Dwarka . The host school also won prizes in varied categories & was appreciated for putting up a mega show. Through sincere efforts, MAMS stirred and kindled the responsibility of being global citizens and thereby expressed their concern for the mother earth with a hope that dexterous efforts would surfeit the earnest wait of our ethereal nature.

Independence Day Celebration

Gaiety and patriotic fervor marked 72nd Independence Day celebration in Maharaja Agrasen Model School, CD, Pitampura. A cultural program was organised on August 14,2018 to make the celebration memorable which commenced with a floral salutation to goddess Saraswati. The Members of the Management hoisted the flag to commemorate the sovereignty of our nation and the national anthem was sung in unison. An assembly of events took place ranging from patriotic songs to dances. A patriotic group dance ‘Nanhe Sipahi’ presented by young Mamsians depicted the relevance of the vital day which was followed by a mono acting` Sipahi Ki Pukar’ presented by a student of class VI. Motivating speeches infused a spirit of patriotism and ownership. Mesmerizing performance by the students in a skit `Bharat chodo andolan’ aroused the patriotic feeling among audience. Another dance named ‘Fitness Dance’ marked the occasion well. The meritorious students were applauded and awarded. The school’s Manager Shri R.K Bansal incorporated the feeling of love and reverence towards our nation through an inspiring speech and exhorted the students to adopt the mission of the school-` Clean Campus, Green Campus.’ The sparkling celebration culminated with a vote of thanks proposed by Principal Dr. Pratibha Kohli. She also urged the students to be the active participants towards the cleanliness of the school and its surroundings. Indeed, the day was celebrated with zest and exuberance which created an aura for everyone to rejoice the freedom, peace and unity in diversity.

Achievement at Microsoft Compudon Season - 8

The school is proud to announce that KARTIKEY GAUR (Class XII) is the NATIONAL CHAMPION in Excel 2016 at Microsoft Office Specialist Championship Season VIII followed by ESHA GOEL ( Class XII) who was declared the FIRST RUNNER UP in Excel 2013.

Kartikey Gaur was awarded with a Gold Medal , a trophy , a Certificate of Merit , 28” LED TV in an Award Function held at Shri Satya Sai Auditorium on June 9,2018. Esha Goel received a Certificate of Merit , a Silver Medal, a trophy , an Amazon fire TV stick and bluetooth speakers.

Participation in State Level Science, Mathematics and Environment Exhibition SLSMEE (2017-18)

Date : 13-12- 2017 to 15-12- 2017

Venue : Science center No. 1, Vasant Vihar

The competition was kind of an aided exhibition in which a team of two students showcased their exhibits on the respective topics . The model was accompanied with presentation charts as a support. Harshit Sharma (XI) and Priya Verma (XI) selected from central level under the subtheme Health and wellness presented an exhibit on Life beyond imagination in which regard they presented a model on artificial womb and applications of stem cell research in medicinal biology and some fascinating discoveries related to the stem cell technology along with some surgical procedures to derive human stem cells.

Exhibition was really informative and inspiring. All the students brought something new to the day, new data and different facts making the entire session much of a learning experience than of a competing one. The participants were felicitated by Principal Ma’am in the assembly.
