Ms. Chandni Agarwal (PGT Computer Science) invited for presenting her innovative work in the field of Cyber Security and Education at ICT Mela at RIE Bhopal by CIET-NCERT on February 21, 2018. More than 40 Innovative ideas were presented in the Mela from all over India.
The main objective of Learning Olympiads on Digital Citizenship and Cyber Wellness is to make our future generations a leader of Digital India. It aims to inculcate interest in students about working safely and responsibly on internet and create a safe learning and sharing web environment for everyone. Students must know how important and crucial it is to head responsibly towards automation and digitization.35 students from Maharaja Agrasen Model School participated in Digital Citizenship and Cyber Wellness Olympiad 2017 held in the month of November, Preksha Jain and Omkar Gauri of class XI secured meritorious position became member of achievers club by scoring marks more than 90. Both students received letter of appreciation and a trophy as a token of appreciation .

The competition was kind of an aided exhibition in which a team of two students showcased their exhibits on the respective topics . The model was accompanied with presentation charts as a support. Harshit Sharma (XI) and Priya Verma (XI) selected from central level under the subtheme Health and wellness presented an exhibit on Life beyond imagination in which regard they presented a model on artificial womb and applications of stem cell research in medicinal biology and some fascinating discoveries related to the stem cell technology along with some surgical procedures to derive human stem cells.
Exhibition was really informative and inspiring. All the students brought something new to the day, new data and different facts making the entire session much of a learning experience than of a competing one. The participants were felicitated by Principal Ma’am in the assembly.
Another milestone has been achieved in the pursuit of achieving excellence in education by young innovators of Maharaja Agrasen Model School, CD Block, Pitampura by landing among the top thirty schools of India in Atal Innovation Mission, the Atal Tinkering Marathon under the flagship of Niti Aayog. The ardent young innovators Satyam Prakash,Pranshu Kapoor, Yash Soni of class- XI under the guidance of the Principal Pratibha Kohli and the dedicated teachers Rakesh Bhardwaj and Jyoti Sharma. They have carved up a niche by qualifying the second round and emerging as one of the best teams of Atal Innovation Mission.
The conscientious team worked on the unique theme of under water resources in which they designed their project on` Clean Water and Sanitation’ which aims to segregate clean water from dirty water and intends to fulfil the need of a large number of people living in the areas with dearth of clean water.
The endeavour was admired and applauded. The achievement justifies the conviction of the school to ignite the young minds towards creativity, adaptive learning and curiosity to create innovators for a skilled India.

Maharaja Agrasen Model school, CD, Pitampura basked in opulence of acclamation by inaugurating the innovative science lab- ATAL TINKERING LAB in the school premises. The school was selected by Niti Aayog among several prestigious schools of India to set up the lab under the project: Atal Innovation Mission.
The inauguration commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the Members of the Management and recitation of Ganesh Stuti and Saraswati Vandana. It was followed by reflection of novel ideas by teachers and students on generating new possibilities and incorporating scientific temperament in students.
Ms. Uma Narang and Ms. Anu Beniwal alumni of the school were invited as the distinguished guests. They shared their adoration towards the glorification of the achievement. Science Faculty exhibited the theme of goal of sustainable development through their presentations.
Manager Shri Harish Chandra JI in his address inspired the young minds to be ingenious and creative to pursue excellence. He also applauded the team work exhibited by the teachers and students Further the principal Pratibha Kohli exhorted teachers as well as students to take up innovative projects for the sustainable development. She further propelled them to explore, recreate and reinvent through the platform provided to them. Sh. Zonal Handball championship was held at GBSSS. FU block Pitam Pura Delhi from August 28,2017 to August 29,2017organised by Delhi School Sports and Cultural Activities Board zone XI ,Distt. Hon’ble Vice President of India , Sh. Venkaiah Naidu , Hon’ble Minister HRD Sh. Prakash Javadekar felicitated her at National Teacher Awards function for her astounding and helpful contribution in the field of education and for spreading cyber awareness for the society. She was conferred with a Silver Medal, a Certificate, a laptop and ICT resource kit. The entire team of awardee teachers also met Hon’ble President at President House on the same day where President of India addressed and congratulated the entire teacher fraternity for their invaluable efforts and contribution in the field of education. She was among the 24 ICT awardees from all over the India.
Gaiety and patriotic fervor marked 71st Independence Day in Maharaja Agrasen Model School,CD, Pitampura as the day was celebrated ebulliently. A cultural program was organised to make the celebration memorable which commenced with a floral salutation to goddess Saraswati. The Members of the Management hoisted the flag to commemorate the sovereignty of our nation and the national anthem was sung in unison. An assembly of events took place ranging from patriotic songs to dances. A patriotic group song depicted the relevance of the vital day which was followed by mono acting by Divyank Behl of class XI depicting the ceaseless efforts of youth to curb the evil of corruption that can mar the dignity of our beloved mother land. Motivating speeches by the head girl and the head boy infused a spirit of patriotism and ownership. Mesmerizing dance performance by the students of class III aroused the patriotic feeling among audience. Another Assamese dance performance marked the occasion well. The meritorious students were applauded and awarded. The school’s Manager Shri Harish Chandra incorporated the feeling of love and reverence towards our nation through an inspiring speech and exhorted the students to adopt the mission of the school-` Clean Campus, Green Campus.’ The sparkling celebration culminated with a vote of thanks proposed by Principal Pratibha Kohli. She also urged the students to be the active participants towards the cleanliness of the school and its surroundings. Indeed the day was celebrated with zest and exuberance which created an aura for everyone to rejoice the freedom, peace, unity and diversity.
An invigorating training Scouts and Guides camp was organised in the school grounds of Maharaja Agrasen Model School, C.D. Block, PItampura, on August 11, 2017. The camp commenced with an address to all the Scouts and Guides from classes 6 to 8. Renowned members from the Scouts and Guides team were Shri Mange Ram Ji S.O.C Delhi state, Dr. Manoj and state trainers Shri Joginder Kumar and Dr.Rekha Goswami. They were invited to share their erudition and experience with the ebullient Scouts and Guides. In the initial part of the training, the participants were acquainted with the most vital topics like Oath Taking, Knotting Rules, First Aid, Tracking and Tent Making. They were also made well versed with recitation of the flag songs as well as practice of several kinds of Scout Claps. The students were provided with scarfs along with their woggle which are an essential part of the Scouts and Guides uniform. All the sessions taken up by the trainers were invigorating .The commitment and involvement of the trainers and the trainees made the camp a success.

Van Mahotsav was celebrated with great exuberance in Maharaja Agrasen, CD, Pitampura. The celebration revived the spirit of igniting young minds with the positive thoughts of protecting, preserving and nurturing our mother Earth and its environment. Various interschool competitions from all the departments like Brochure on Tourism (Social Studies ), Maths Magic Mystery (Mathematics), Model Making (Science), Front-End Designing & Debugging (Information Technology), Nukkad Natak (Commerce), Poster With Slogan Writing (Sanskrit), Texture Painting (Art) and Monoacting (Theatre) were organised to bring home the idea that our environment must be taken care of for which young minds should be sensitized for devising innovative strategies to protect it. The students also took out a rally to sensitize the community regarding the need to preserve the nature. The celebration began with Interschool Competitions in which around twenty-five schools of Delhi participated enthusiastically. The august gathering was addressed by the Principal Ms. Pratibha Kohli and she motivated them to exhibit their talent by participating ebulliently and adhering to the beckoning call of nature. The overall trophy was won by Indraprastha International School, Dwarka. Like every year, this year also the celebration not only invited creative students to showcase their talent but also rejuvenated as well as inspired them to remain an essential unit of the Healthy Environment.

The day comprised of the scheduled lectures which started immediately after the inaugural session. The first lecture was on Environmental Studies and the Indian Subcontinent by Prof. M.K. Pandit. Students learnt a lot of new and interesting things through the lecture. Students performed an experiment to calculate the value of g (acceleration due to gravity) with the help of a compound pendulum. A practical on diffraction of laser beam was also demonstrated to the students.The second day comprised of two lectures.The first lecture was delivered by Prof. Himadri B.Bohidar (JNU, New Delhi)on the topic of “Nanoscience & Physical Sciences”.The second lecture was given by Prof. D.S. Rawat (Department of Chemistry, University of Delhi), who inspired students for innovative thinking and inspired research.The third day comprised of two lectures and a hand on training session.The first lecture was provided by "Prof.Ajay Kumar-Delhi University" on the topic "Emphasis on π and e”.After the first lecture there was a creative scientific writing competition on the " Energy sustainability and development."The second lecture was provided by "Professor Anvil Grover "on the topic “Stress Tolerant Transgenic Crops - The future agriculture”.The lecture was based on the making of transgenic crops by recombinant DNA technology and the creation of such crops that could give best results even under stressful conditions that could be either moisture related or temperature related problems.The fourth day comprised of two lectures and a hands on training session.The first lecture was provided by Prof. V. V. Ramamurthy (Division of Entomology Indian Agricultural Research Institute) who told the students a great deal about insects and how they are important to the ecosystem. The second lecture was delivered by Prof. Arvind (Indian Institute of Science Education and Research) who talked about the fundamentals of the Quantum World.the students isolated genomic DNA from a cauliflower tissue, studied the mitosis from squash preparation of onion root tip, demonstrated and calculated the frequency of non- tasters and tasters in a given population, created the allele and genotype frequency and constructed a pedigree chart for the same.The last day kick started with a very interesting lecture by by "Professor S.K Dogra - FNA,Delhi"on the topic “Chemistry is bigger than life”.The final lecture of the day was delivered by Professor Santosh Kumar on the topic “Geology - A field of observational science " It was about the various minerals and the facts about the earth and its several landscapes.

Senior National Kurash Championship 2017-18 was held at Indian Modern Sr. Sec. School Gohana Road, Sonipat, Haryana from 14th to 16th June, 2017.It was organised by Haryana Kurash Association. Dynamic Yasha Satija represented Delhi State and secured First place in the championship. The MAMSIAN was awarded with a Gold Medal and a certificate of Merit.

Out of 160 students who appeared in the secondary school examinations, number of students who scored CGPA 10 is 34 whereas scholars who scored CGPA 9 and above are 73. Online labs is a remarkable innovation for the effective teaching and learning. Reflecting conviction in the same, Maharaja Agrasen Model School, CD-Block, Pitampura conducted a workshop for teachers on online labs in the school on April 24, 2017 . The objective was to provide a platform to the teachers to view , review and peep in to the revolution that can be brought with the usage of online labs.
The workshop commenced with the lighting of ceremonial lamp and a welcome song. After a compact introduction of the concept the teachers were addressed by the Principal of the school Ms. Pratibha Kohli in which the audience was inspired to comprehend as well as critically analyse the emerging concept of online labs. Mr. Chandrasekhar, the Project Associate from Amrita Create, Amrita University reflected upon the need, usage and advantages of the topic in his training programme which was followed by a practical training session titled “Hands on Learning Session”.
Nearly 88 teachers from various schools of Delhi and NCR participated in the workshop. The workshop ignited the minds of learners and culminated with the distribution of certificates. The conscientious efforts of the Management and the Principal of conducting innovative workshops were appreciated by one and all.

NCFE [National Centre for Financial Education] conducts National Financial Literacy Assessment Test (NFLAT) to further the cause of financial literacy in India.
By conducting this national level test, NCFE motivates school students (of classes VI to X) to learn the concepts of finance and also measure their financial awareness so that they inculcate an important life skill at an early age leading to sound financial decisions later.
National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) is a public trust and educational institute established by Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI). From spreading awareness of securities markets among common investors to skill development of market professionals, the institute carries out a wide range of capacity building activities at various levels. NISM’s six schools of excellence and the National centre for Financial Education (NCFE) work in synergy towards professionalized securities markets.
National Centre for Financial Education (NCFE) is a joint initiative of all financial sector regulators i.e. RBI, SEBI, IRDAI, PFRDA and NISM to implement National Strategy for Financial Education. The main role of NCFE is to create financial education materials and conduct financial education campaigns across the country for all sections of the population along with awareness campaigns at different levels for existing and potential customers so as to improve their knowledge, understanding, skills and competence.
Round 1 : It was conducted on December 9, 2016 in offline mode in the School (11:30am to 12:30pm) . 721 students from Classes VI to X appeared for the test.
The online test comprised of 60 questions for Classes VI to VIII (NFLAT Jr.) and 75 questions for Classes IX and X (NFLAT) which were to be answered in 60 minutes.
OUR SCHOOL BEING AMONG THE TOP 10 SCHOOLS OF NORTH REGION QUALIFIED FOR THE 2ND ROUND OF COMPETITION.
Round 2: It was conducted at NISM Patalganga Campus, Mumbai from April 21, 2017 to April 23, 2017. Arya Madan of Class X-B and Esha Goel of Class X-D (Session 2016-17) accompanied by Ms Ritu Lalwani (PGT-Business Studies) represented the School. Students appeared for a Competitive Computer Test. Career Counselling session and workshop on Financial Planning was also organized for the Teachers and Parents.
School and Students were awarded a Special Recognition Certificate. A cheque of Three Thousand each was also awarded to the students for their participation.
In the words of Esha Goel and Arya Madan…… The exposure that we got at the NISM campus became a learning experience. Around 2.35 lakh students had given the NFLAT level-1 exam and from them top 130 students were selected from all over India and we were amongst them. It was a mesmerizing experience for us that we would cherish for the rest of our life. The motivating and inspiring words of Mr. Sandip Ghose, Director of NISM, really boosted our confidence and we learnt that there are no barriers to one’s learning and education. We there gave a computerised test. In the evening we attended the cultural event where everyone danced and enjoyed and all became one. The event was a platform for people to showcase their talent. The staff there was very cooperative and we got to know more about financial education. This examination made us more aware about the competition out there and we got to know to about the quizzing strategies. All and all it was an amazing learning experience that we won’t forget ever. At last it had all been possible through the perpetual support and guidance of our school and teachers. We would like to thank them. |

CIET-NCERT organised the ICT Mela (fair) and 21st All India Children’s Educational Audio Video Festival (AICEAVF), 2017 on 5-7 April, 2017 at Chacha Nehru Bhavan, CIET, NCERT, New Delhi-110016. Ms. Pratibha Kohli (Principal) and Ms. Chandni Agarwal(PGT-Computer Science) participated as an exhibitor to showcase contemporary ICT innovations/initiatives in the field of education. Ms. Chandni Agarwal showcased Cyber Security Guide (Android App) and encouraged the visitors to be secure on net. There were 40 stalls showcasing ICT initiatives in the field of education.
The Mela was a successful attempt to showcase the innovations in ICT in Education across the nation and National ICT Awardees (teachers), International Organisations, Autonomous bodies, Government Organizations, States, SCERTs, etc. participated in it. This ICT Mela (fair) brought cultivators of ‘ICT in Education’ together like Principals, Teachers, Educators, students and provided them opportunities to exchange insights on ICT enabled teaching-learning practices.
The ICT Mela and 21st AICEAV was a three day long event comprised of screening of audio/video entries and panel discussion.
