GANIT Week was organised from December 13- 22, 2016 to mark 129th birth anniversary of the famous Mathematicial genius Srinivas Ramanujan at MAMS. To understand the poetry of logical ideas in Mathematics, the department organised an array of activities for classes IV to XI.

To make learning effective and fun-filled Mathematical Tambola was organised for classes IV and IX. Students created their own tambola tickets and board and enjoyed the game thoroughly. To enhance numerical competence and test mathematical aptitude Mathematical Ability Test was conducted for students of classIV, V and XI. Connecting Mathematics with Art, students created Mathematical Rangoli and decorated the display boards in Big Picture Display using creative mathematical concepts. To perceive the connection of mathematical concepts with real life situations Rangometry and Mathematical Dumb-charades were organised for the students of classes VI. Considering the conjugation of music and mathematics as the pinnacle of human creativity, a musical activity was conducted for students of class VII so that they could relate every aspect of the universe with mathematics. To make learning fun and enjoyable, mathematical riddles were asked and explained to the students. Students of classes VIII and X participated enthusiastically in the Mental Maths Quiz which proved to be a great platform for enhancing logical skills. Magic Squares and 5 Fives saw hands coming together showcasing their competitive spirit in numeracy. An interesting Just-A-Minute session by class XI with a open house discussion with the Vice Principal Ms. Simmi Bhaita on connecting mathematical concepts with daily life was welcomed by the learners.

The week long celebration culminated on December 22, 2016 with a display of the artistic creations. The mathematicians like Ramanujan,Bhaskara,Shakuntla devi Came alive during the special assembly and staging of a Mathstasy tale "Mathrella".The efforts put in by the students were recognised. Screening of the movie –"The Man Who Knew Infinity" for classes VI to XI illustrating the life of the great mathematician stirred the mathematician in all the viewers. The efforts of the maths department and the students were appreciated by the principal Ms. Pritibha Kohli.

Maharaja Agrasen Model School, CD Block, Pitampura, Delhi celebrated Safer Internet Day 2016 on February 09, 2016, on the theme ‘Play your part for a Better Internet’. The special assembly was an effort to make the cyber space a positive and creative tool for each citizen.

The special assembly saw an enlightening and informative skit presented by the students of class IX-C on the focal theme. Next was an article presented by Pragya Jha of class IX-C . Thereafter the Principal Madam Pratibha Kohli addressed the students about the personal safety and security risks to private information associated with the use of the internet, and the self-protection from computer crime in general. She stressed upon the need of internet safety as a growing concern for both children and adults and urged the gathering to use internet judiciously. The children were cautioned that how they can get trapped if they fail to understand the judicious use of internet.

REPORT ON NEED TO IMPROVE AIR QUALITY

Maharaja Agrasen Model School conducted a special assembly under the guidelines laid by the Government of NCT of Delhi- Directorate of Education (Science and TV branch) to sensitize its students about the need to improve the air quality which is the call of the era. The students were made to wear the thinking caps and find a solution to combat the problem of great magnitude. An article was read out by Deepti of class X that focused on the various viable strategies that could improve upon the deteriorating quality of air in the city. The principal made the students pledge to work tirelessly for the environment and contribute their best in order to keep their surroundings clean.

REPORT ON FAREWELL (2015-16)

“May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sunshine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly upon you. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of His hand.” In an emotionally charged atmosphere inside the campus of Maharaja Agrasen Model School, the students, staff and management of the school bid ave to its students of class XII on January 30, 2015. The day commenced with drum beats that marked the commencement of the ordinance. A number of events were organized by the students of class XI to mark this nostalgic moment which would go down the memory lane of the outgoing students in the years to come. The speech by the Principal, Ms. Pratibha Kohli, inspired the students to work hard and carry the name of the school to newer heights. The presentation by the vibrant mamsians was the recollection of sweet memories of their school days. It reminded them of their yesteryears and home away from home. There ended a beautiful day marked with both happiness and sorrow and lots of love.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON NATIONAL YOUTH DAY

A special assembly was conducted by the English Department on January 16,2016 on the occasion of the National Youth Day. The assembly aimed to calibrate the Indian youth to take up the responsibilities and formulate strategies that could eliviate the social status of India. The article presented by Bhavika talked about the importance of discipline in the youth of India. A pledge on the occasion was taken by the Mamsians where they vowed to work tirelessly in creating harmony, universal brotherhood, peace and secularism in the country. The thoughtful assembly could really motivate the youth of the country and make them feel morally responsible to work for the nation.

REPORT ON GANIT WEEK (2015-16)

MAMS conducted GANIT (Growing Aptitude in Numerical Innovations & Training) Week with a plethora of activities to enhance the skills and aptitude of the students in the subject. It acquainted them with unique, playful and creative methods of learning maths. A special assembly was organized on December 22, 2015 to commemorate the 128th birth anniversary of the mathematical genius Shri Srinivasa Ramanujan. The highlight of the assembly was a mathematical rap. The week also presented various activities like: Mathematics Relay Race, Mathematics Projects, Scenery Using Plane Shapes, Calendtangram, Mathematical Rhymes and Poems, Poster Making Competition and Magic Show Saluting the spirit of Mathematics, the week brought together lots of investigatory skills to the forefront. Keeping in sync with the mood of mathematical rhythm, the Principal Mrs. Pratibha Kohli appreciated the efforts put in by the Mathematics Faculty.The Ganit week was concluded with math-o-phobia transforming into math-o-mania.

An inspiring and innovative exhibition was organized by CBSE. Gopal Batra and Rohan Kalra (INDUSTRY), Tanishq Kothari and Kartik Behl (RESOURCE MANAGEMENT) participated at Regional level Science Exhibition, 2015 under their respective sub-themes. The competition was kind of an aided exhibition in which a team of two students showcased their exhibits on the respective topics .The models were accompanied with charts as a support. Exhibition was really informative and inspiring. All the students brought something new to the day, new data and different facts making the entire session much of a learning experience than of a competing one.

Maharaja Agrasen Model School CD- Block, Pitampura, Delhi-110034 celebrated its Annual Day- SAMANVAY on December 6, 2015 with great zest and zeal in the school premises. It was indeed an honour for the school to receive the revered Chief Guest His Excellency KYE CHUN YONG, Ambassador, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea. The esteemed Guest of Honour- Smt. Rashmi Gahlaut, Deputy Director of Education Distt. North West-B, graced the occasion with her benign presence.
The celebrations began with the lighting of the auspicious lamp followed by a welcome dance Su-Swagatam. In the welcome address to the august gathering, Shri M.L. Goel , Manager of the school management committee extended his warm greetings to all the dignitaries and the esteemed guests. The school Principal, Ms. Pratibha Kohli, presented the school’s wonderment bringing into limelight the academic achievements and laurels galore followed by Prize Distribution in different categories i.e. academics, co-curricular and sports.The victors of scholastic and co-scholastic domains were applauded with trophies and certificates of appreciation on this special day.Akshat Singhal, received the best student award for the year 2014-15 and was felicitated on the gala event for his achievements in scholastic and co-scholistic domains.
Continuing with the spirit of celebration, the students presented the Western Dance- Movers and Swingers, and the Fusion Dance- East Meets West. The ravishing dance performances were a great treat to the eyes. Also a Haryanvi Dance -Mahra Hariyala Haryana was presented which represented happiness, colour and togetherness. Keeping pace with the changed requirements in the age of martial arts, the progeny presented the techniques and the skills of taekwondo learnt and mastered by them.
A breath taking dance drama -Kathputli was enacted by the budding theatre group of the school on the theme- “Save Girl Child” which helped in raising awareness and sensitized the people regarding the said cause.
The highlights of the extravaganza were the wonderful Korean songs and the mesmerizing dance performances presented by the Korean students that won over the heart of the audience and gave us a peep into their rich culture.
The Guest of Honour Smt. Rashmi Gahlaut in her address to the audience acknowledged and appreciated the efforts put in by the students in putting up the gala show. She also praised the meritorious students for their excellent
performance in curricular and co-curricular activities and wished them luck in future.
The Chief Guest HE Kye Chun Yong, in his speech to the august gathering talked about Cultural Globalization and its reference to the transmission of ideas, meaning and values around the world to intensify social relations and strengthen the ties between the two nations .He appreciated the dexterous efforts of the school in exhibiting India’s exuberance in aesthetic and cultural vibrancy.
The celebration concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by the Vice Principal-Ms. Simmi Bhatia, followed by National Anthems of Korea and India.

Our school celebrated November 26 , 2015 as the Constitution Day to honour our democracy and acquaint students with the significance of the day. An assembly was conducted commencing with the ‘Pledge Taking Ceremony’ involving everyone to recite the Preamble of the Constitution. Further, an informative article on ‘Constitution Day’ was presented by a student followed by an inspirational thought and a melodious song highlighting our responsibility towards Indian Constitution.

A poster making Competition was held in classes VI to XII to illustrate the message contained in the Preamble the Indian constitution.

The winners in the poster making activity were announced and were awarded with certificates of appreciation.

Thus, The Constitution Day,2015 was celebrated with exuberance and zest.

MAHARAJA AGRASEN MODEL SCHOOL,CD BLOCK ,PITAMPURA celebrated Diwali ,the festival of lights on November 9,2015 with great zest and zeal in the school. The celebration began with the invocation of Lord Ganesha by the exuberant tiny tots who presented GANESH STUTI .This was followed by the spell binding DIYA DANCE by the students of class IV and who laid emphasis on the importance of light being a symbol of hope and positive energy, also indicating the victory of good over evil. The students of class V presented a skit on the theme SAY NO TO CRACKERS and enlightened their fellow students about the message of this festival ie. to step into a clean and brighter world by saying no to crackers.
The school Principal-Ms. Pratibha Kohli enlightened the students with her inspirational words of wisdom and gave an inspirational speech on the true meaning of Diwali and encouraging the cygnets to kindle the flame of love amongst the masses . She also exhorted the students to say no to crackers and celebrate a safe and pollution free Diwali.

Jawaharlal Nehru who was always very concerned for children, loved them a lot and contributed to their development. The delightful an enchanting assembly spread the message and mission of Pt. Nehru who always wanted children to grow , get educated and prosper in life. The cherubs of Pre school presented an enthralling dance and mesmerized the audience by their performance. The Quawalli presented by the students of V and VI was indeed a treat to the eyes and ears. Thereafter the Principal, Ms. Pratibha Kohli gave an inspiring speech highlighting the significance of childhood as a period of innocence and exuberance.

Students of different schools participated and exhibited a dummy model showing working of led bulb with story. Students of our school also participated in the competition and exhibited a model without using battery showing glowing of a LED using lemon and salt solution. Our school students were given appreciation certificate. It was a great learning experience for the student.

Student of our school also participated in the competition and gave her presentation in symposium on topic describing about how light is helpful in making earth a sustainable planet with applications. Student was given appreciation certificate. It was a great learning experience for the student.

SKILL DRILL

The main purpose of skill drill is to get them aware about a few electronic gazettes like computer, cellphone, robots, television, cars, clocks etc. The emphasis is laid upon demonstration, power point presentation, diagrams, project work, activities, dramatization, writing skills etc. The syllabus of skill drill is divided according to classes I to III.

MAHARAJA AGRASEN MODEL SCHOOL,CD Block Pitampura commemorated the puritan, visionary and the greatest teacher of the world Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and celebrated the Teachers’ Day with great zest and zeal. The students of all the classes greeted the teachers and were happy to wish them. The Class XII students donned the mantle of student- teachers and lent an aura to this special day. The celebration commenced with the school prayer sung by the teachers thereafter the Principal administered the pledge to the teachers to always have a positive influence on the students. The dance presentation by the teachers of MAMS left the students mesmerized.
Following the line of celebration was a short skit presented by the facilitators highlighting the importance of discipline in the life of a student. The morning assembly which was enacted by the teachers was thoroughly enjoyed by all and it gave a festive air to the occasion. The address of the President and the Prime Minister of India was the coronation to the celebration

Janmashtmi Celebration

MAHARAJA AGRASEN MODEL SCHOOL celebrated Janmashtmi in the school premises with great devotion and enthusiasm to mark the birth anniversary of Lord Krishna on September 3,2015. A special assembly was organized to mark the celebration. An article highlighting this auspicious day was read out followed the inspirational thought for the day. Thereafter an inter house dance competition was organized wherein participants of all the houses showcased their talent and danced to the tunes of famous hymns and songs sung in devotion of Giriraj. The spell binding dance performances transported one and all to the Brij Bhoomi leaving all the devotees swaying to the tunes of the great deity.

REPORT: The students zealously participated in the activity and highlighted Dr. Kalam’s significant contribution to the Indian space research in launching Agni and other ballistic missiles and thus making India,a proud member of the space club. Through this activity the students fondly remembered their Kalam chacha and his teachings as well as his self disciplined approach to life. They realized the importance of hard work and incessant efforts required to scale heights. The best entries were selected by the judges.

REPORT : With the aim of spreading awareness regarding conservation of environment school organized Vanmahotsava Week on and 2nd August 2014 . On Wednesday August 5 , 2015 Inter School Competition was held on theme – Ways To Reduce Air Pollution . Two students participated from our school exhibited a working model on topic - Ways to Reduce Air Pollution. Many schools participated and explained different ways to reduce air pollution through their exhibits, charts and powerpoint presentations. The main aim of competition was to sensitise the audience about air pollution and ways to minimize it. The students of our school were given participation certificates. It was a great learning experience for students.

REPORT: With the aim of spreading awareness regarding ‘Importance of Light’ and inculcating scientific and creative skills in students , Jaspal Kaur Public School , Shalimar Bagh organized an Inter School Competition - JASPALIAN ARCADE 2015. Students of different schools participated in the competition and exhibited various models on IMPORTANCE OF LIGHT. Students of our school also participated in the competition and presented a working model and related power point presentation on theme Importance of light and a powerpoint presentation based on principle of hydropower to generate electricity to lit bulbs in houses, lighthouse etc and showing importance of light in our daily life and in nature’. The students of our school participated in the competition and were given appreciation certificates. It was a great learning experience for students.

REPORT: A PowerPoint presentation was held at D. L DAV, Pitampura where students were required to prepare a presentation on Thalassemia – A case study. A team of two students were required to present a PPT on the above mentioned topic for 6 minutes. There were questions at the end of presentation and judgment was done on the basis of knowledge, interjection and presentation. A total of 55 schools all over Delhi participated in the competition Such type of competitions helps the students to showcase their competitive skills. It was a great learning experience for students.

A confluence of responsibility, versatility, promptness, proficiency, and conduct is what a leader and a champion is. Maharaja Agrasen Model School, CD-Block organized investiture ceremony 2015-16 on July 23, 2015 in the school premises to honour the leaders in the making. The celebration began with a prayer to mark the solemnity of the occasion. Thereafter each member of the student council was adorned with a tie by the worthy Principal Ms. Pratibha Kohli marking their individuality distinct and thrusting the responsibility to be borne with and led them in taking the oath. The event concluded with the speeches by the former head boy Arshdeep Singh and head girl Sonal Jain of the school who shared their experience and even encouraged the newly sworn President of student council, Yamini Negi, head boy Akshit Kansal and head girl Palak Rana to shoulder responsibilities and steer the school to greater heights. The ceremony concluded with the National Anthem.

AAVISHKAR AABHIYAN QUIZ SERIES

The Aavishakar Quiz Series as per CBSE circular No. -  Acad-34/2015 was held at Maharaja Agrasen Model School , CD Block, Pitampura , Delhi- 34 on  July 9th, 2015 engaging the children of upper primary wing ( IV-V) and the middle wing (VI- VIII) . The quiz was organized to inculcate inquisitiveness, to promote innovative spirit and excitement amongst the students in the area of Science , Mathematics and Technology. The best two students were selected from the upper primary and the middle wing.
The competition was also organized for the students of class 9,10 &11.

An embellishing potpourri of enthralling activities shining with the shades of zest, potential and competitive fervor came to the fore when Maharaja Agrasen Model School, CD Block, Pitampura heralded the annual interschool extravaganza Zenith- Let’s Reach the Pinnacle on May 2, 2015 with immeasurable enthusiasm.
The exuberant show celebrating the essence of the joys of togetherness, emotive concerns and endearment with the theme ‘My Family’ commenced with the lamp lighting ceremony and a warm welcome of the eminent guests and ebullient participants accorded by the principal Mrs. Pratibha Kohli. The Welcome Dance by the vivacious students of class V paved the way to begin the array of competitions scheduled for the day.
A creative compendium of events unfurled captivating the spectators in the resplendent revelry including competitions like Toon Fam- Design A Name Plate, Family Conclave- Meet the Celebrities, FaMEALy Time- A Vegetable Tableau, Capturecustomers@family.com, My Family My Pride- Character Enactment, Gharonda- A Family Shelter in Shapes and Muhawaro Se Mulaqat which saw fervent participation from 25 prestigious schools.
Presenting a creative platter in ToonFam- Design a Name Plate, students of class IV created innovatively designed name plates for popular cartoon families. Celebrities and fictional characters from far and wide adorned the show in Family Conclave- Meet the Celebrities. Fruits and vegetables were spruced up and well-aligned by students of class III in FaMEALy Time- a Vegetable Tableau which proved to be a feast to the eyes. Selling products with competence and skill in Capturecustomers@family.com the participants of class I convinced the onlookers to burn a hole in their pockets. My Family My Pride – Character Enactment made a mark when pre-primary students presented captivating performances dressed up as their favourite family members. Showing their mastery in recitations and expressions the students of class V brimmed with talent in Muhawaro Se Mulakat. Gharonda- a Family Shelter in Shapes, a competition for the students of pre-primary saw the magnificently designed homes made using eco-friendly material. The dazzling spectacle of performances received a whole-hearted appreciation by the Manager Shri S C Mangla, the eminent members of the jury, the Principal and the Vice Principal when they distributed the prizes to the winners. Securing different positions in all competitions the host school bagged the most coveted Overall Best School Trophy which customarily was passed on to N K Bagrodia Public School. In her Vote of Thanks the Vice-Principal Mrs. Simmi Bhatia gladly announced that the envisioned festivities proved to be trenchant evidence to unbound talent and exceptional abilities of the young minds.

An Inter-House General Knowledge Quiz Competition was organized on April 18, 2015 for class IV in the seminar hall. There were four teams and four students participated in each team. The quiz was based on current affairs, school rules and festivals of India. All the teams participated with enthusiasm and zeal. First position went to Nanak House, second position went to Vivekanand House and the third position went to Gautam and Kabir House. Vice principal ma’am congratulated the teams and motivated the students.



ENGLISH WEEK CELEBRATION

In an endeavour to acquaint the young minds of MAMS with the charisma and magnanimity of the world’s third most spoken language, MAMS celebrated the revelry ‘English Week- A Sublime Delight’ from April 21, 2015 to April 25, 2015 with immeasurable enthusiasm. An array of splendid activities were organized in the school. The indomitable zest and competitive spirit of the students paved way for making this extraordinary pursuit a brilliant success.
Every passing day of this momentous week witnessed a variety of lively and refreshing activities. The extravaganza began and continued with the activities like preparing book marks, poster designing, DEAR time, acrostic poem, calligraphy, changing the end of the story, spellathon etc. Ability to spell correctly entices better reading competence and builds a great vocabulary for effective communication use. The spell-a-thon activity bolstered up this domain and assisted the teachers in identifying the incredible spellers of the primary wing. The ebullient learners participated with great exuberance and ended up refining and polishing their linguistic skills.


Science Week Celebration

Science week was celebrated in our school, many events were organized to enhance the knowledge of students to develop the scientific temperament. Various activities like power point presentation, News report, Slogan writing, Poster making, symposium, Article writing. Science activities were conducted for clear understanding and conceptual development for the child to observe, think and analyze himself. It is aimed at providing the platform for students to develop constructive strategies’ which can be followed up to incubate scientific temperaments.

Human Rights Day Celebration

Date – December 9 ,2015
The school organised a special assembly on human rights day to familiarise the students with the Human rights. The assembly began with the prayer sung by the school choir which was followed by pledge.The students were made aware of their rights followed by an inspirational quote. It was followed by a poem and an article which highlighted how important human rights are for the existence of mankind.
