Safer Internet Day


The Safer Internet Day was celebrated on 10th Feb, 2017 at Maharaja Agrasen Model School with the full zeal and enthusiasm. The assembly for this special day was organized by the computer department of this school. Tishita of class VI D recited a beautiful self-composed poem. The mind teasing quiz was conducted by Yakshit of class VIII C. The Internet Safety Rules were presented by Rishabh Gupta of class 8C. Students of all class 8 presented a talk show with poster presentation on the topic “Being Safe and Secure” which was appreciated by the audience. The assembly was ended with a note on Cyber Safety by the school principal Madam Pratibha Kohli, guiding the students regarding safe use of internet.

MAHARAJA AGRASEN, PITAMPURA CELEBRATES 68th REPUBLIC DAY WITH GREAT ZEAL


January 25, 2017

Maharaja Agrasen Model School, Pitampura celebrated the Republic day with patriotic fervour. The program commenced with the hoisting of the flag by the Members of the Management. The school choir sang the national anthem enthusing the hearts with sentiments for the motherland. Followed by this was the staging of the street play by Pre- Primary children on Clean Campus, Green Campus sensitizing the audience for shouldering their responsibility towards keeping their surroundings clean and green to nurture the environment. Children showcased their talent in Dumbbell drill and offered a melodious musical tribute to their native land with the presentation of the song Vande Matram.patriotic group songs sung by students infused patriotism and enthralled everybody. In an inspiring speech the Secretary Sh. S. L Gupta ji urged children to imbibe values like honesty and truthfulness to make this world a better place to live in. The celebration culminated with a vote of thanks by the Principal Ms. Pratibha Kohli .She concluded on an optimistic note by motivating students to be the stake holders to guard their constitution and contribute their bit to glorify their school, society and nation.

REPORT on Farewell to class XII(2016-17)


January 16,2017

Class XI students bid a farewell to the outgoing students of class XII with zest .The show started with mesmerizing dance performances followed by an energetic singing performance which was enjoyed by one and all.The cultural extravaganza rejuvenated the audience. An amazing video presented by class XI students stirred nostalgia and a spirit of recapitulation of old beautiful memories. The students of class XII were attired gracefully. The DJ enthralled and captured them to dance ebulliently. They were guided and given the best wishes by the Principal as well as by the Vice- Principal.The sumptuous lunch was relished by them and the show ended with the title giving ceremony. The Lady of the evening was Punya Bhutani of class XII - C and the title of the Gentleman of the evening was given to Harshit Gupta of class XII - A. The students left the school with misty eyes expressing their gratitude for the teachers and every one who had been the part of their school journey.

GANIT Week was organised from December 13- 22, 2016 to mark 129th birth anniversary of the famous Mathematicial genius Srinivas Ramanujan at MAMS. To understand the poetry of logical ideas in Mathematics, the department organised an array of activities for classes IV to XI.

To make learning effective and fun-filled Mathematical Tambola was organised for classes IV and IX. Students created their own tambola tickets and board and enjoyed the game thoroughly. To enhance numerical competence and test mathematical aptitude Mathematical Ability Test was conducted for students of classIV, V and XI. Connecting Mathematics with Art, students created Mathematical Rangoli and decorated the display boards in Big Picture Display using creative mathematical concepts. To perceive the connection of mathematical concepts with real life situations Rangometry and Mathematical Dumb-charades were organised for the students of classes VI. Considering the conjugation of music and mathematics as the pinnacle of human creativity, a musical activity was conducted for students of class VII so that they could relate every aspect of the universe with mathematics. To make learning fun and enjoyable, mathematical riddles were asked and explained to the students. Students of classes VIII and X participated enthusiastically in the Mental Maths Quiz which proved to be a great platform for enhancing logical skills. Magic Squares and 5 Fives saw hands coming together showcasing their competitive spirit in numeracy. An interesting Just-A-Minute session by class XI with a open house discussion with the Vice Principal Ms. Simmi Bhaita on connecting mathematical concepts with daily life was welcomed by the learners.

The week long celebration culminated on December 22, 2016 with a display of the artistic creations. The mathematicians like Ramanujan,Bhaskara,Shakuntla devi Came alive during the special assembly and staging of a Mathstasy tale "Mathrella".The efforts put in by the students were recognised. Screening of the movie –"The Man Who Knew Infinity" for classes VI to XI illustrating the life of the great mathematician stirred the mathematician in all the viewers. The efforts of the maths department and the students were appreciated by the principal Ms. Pritibha Kohli.

REPORT on Enthralling Excursion

An enthralling excursion enabled one fifty students of class XI and XII with their teachers to rejoice a fun filled excursion to the WORLDS OF WONDER (Noida). The sunny day of picnic commenced with their ebullient entry to the venue and having a light refreshment. Students as well as teachers enjoyed the adventurous rides merrily. Leaving behind the strifes of life, they danced , took up the reviving activities , enjoyed the carefree afternoon and also relished the afternoon meal. They were clicked into a group photograph with their zest and merry laughter.

An Inter House declamation competition was held on 15 October, 2016 for class 4th & 5th on the topic "WE ARE BUDDSIES, WE DON'T BULLY." Two students from each house presented their views on the topic. The students were enthusiastic while speaking. They gave stress on the need that bullying should be stopped. All the students spoke very well. Declamation activity gave the students a chance to enhance their speaking skill. It was enjoyed by everyone. Students of class 12th and 11th (medical stream) visited IARI commonly known as Pusa. The institute is affiliated with ICAR. Students first visited NASM, the institute's museum where they were received by Mr. Pal.The students got to know about the rich legacy of Indian agriculture and the great pioneers in the field of agriculture.A short film highlighting India's agricultural festivals was shown to the students. Further the students got a glimpse of modern agricultural techniques and biologically enhanced crops described in detail in the museum.This was followed by a visit to the Division of Fruits and Horticulture Technology, headed by Dr. S.K. Singh. Dr. M.K. Verma (Principal Scientist, Horticulture Dept., IARI) guided students about the research work on Grapefruit. Accompanied by Dr. M.K. Verma ,the students then visited the fruit orchard of the institute where they got to see the different varieties of kinnow , Grapefruit and Pomelo growing there as apart of research work. The students got hands on experience of core research work happening at I.A.R.I.

NAME OF THE EVENT: CENTRAL LEVEL CHILDREN'S SCIENCE CONGRESS. VENUE: MODERN PUBLIC SCHOOL, SHALIMAR BAGH, DELHI. DATE: OCTOBER 27, 2016. THEME: SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT. SUB THEME: MALNUTRITION AND COMBATING HIDDEN HUNGER.

PARTICIPATING TEAMS AND GUIDE TEACHER: JUNIOR TEAM-PRACHI GARG(VIII C), RISHABH GUPTA(VIII C), KHUSHI GARG(VIII C),JEEVANSHU GOEL(VIII C),SAMARTH JINDAL(IX D) AND GUIDE TEACHER Ms PREETI GUPTA.

DESCRIPTION: Different schools selected at the zonal level participated in the event and their respective teams gave a presentation on the project they worked on and its relevance .This was judged by a team of jury members and was followed by a question round. The team members of our school team further worked on malnutrition and how biofortification of our crops can solve the problem of hidden hunger.The students visited the nearby dispensary to find out more about malnutrition and how nutrient supplements are provided to children of the economically backward section of the society to solve this problemThe team leader Prachi Garg (VIII C) along with Rishabh Gupta(VIII C) supported their research through charts and PPT.

REPORT on Diwali Celebration


A special assembly on Diwali was conducted on October 28, 2016. The celebration commenced with the Ram Katha narrated by Diwansh Malik of class I followed by a street play on the topic "Things we should do on Diwali" by the students of class V. The assembly aimed at motivating the students to celebrate "Pollution Free Diwali" and not to burst crackers. The students took a pledge that this Diwali they will spread cheer and would avoid the activities that causes pollution. The monitors of each class lighted the diyas and candles symbolizing the dispelling of happiness. The assembly ended with the wishes from the principal Ms Pratibha Kohli. She wished the children and their families a very happy and save Diwali. She advised the children to celebrate Diwali by lighting diyas and candles, distributing sweets and keeping their surrounding clean.

PCRA Online Quiz

Petroleum Conservation Research Association organized first round of an online quiz in the first week of October 2016.It was conducted in our school on 4th October 2016.Around 30 students from class 8th to 10th participated in this quiz. Each student was given a time limit of 10 minutes to attempt 10 questions. Exuberating, motivating , enlightening and engaging would describe this online quiz.This quiz was aimed at developing the knowledge about petroleum, agriculture ,conservation etc. and excellence among students. The Swachhta Pakhwada drive was conducted in our school- Maharaja Agrasen Model School, CD- block, Pitampura, Delhi. A clean class competition was organized in which the students cleaned their classroom and prepared dustbins for use in the class. In each class two swacchta monitors have also been appointed. The students took out a rally and a street play was performed to create awareness amongst people. A number of intraschool competitions like Grow and Nurture Plants in the waste cans, Green Revolution awareness, were organized.

Report on Formation of E CONNECT - Communication Club

E Connect was formulated to enhance the English conversational skills of students. The members of the club met the Vice Principal in Sep 7, 2016 to discuss about the students who could be made the Class Representatives so as to facilitate the working of the club. It was also decided that the members of the club would meet on the first Tuesday of every month to discuss about the successful conduction of activities planned and also to devise more innovative practices to improve the English communication skills.

Report on Teacher's Day Celebration

Enthusiasm and festivity marked September 5th, the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, which was celebrated gleefully in the school . The school campus was gripped with fervour as teachers put their best foot forward whilst celebrating their day. A special assembly was organised where teachers offered prayers, presented various performances, skits, speeches and poems. An oath was taken by the Principal which was reiterated by all teachers. Teachers eagerly took part in different games organised for the day. A cultural programme comprising of antakshari and dance performances was organised in the Seminar Hall which was enjoyed thoroughly by one and all. The members of the management and the principal awarded Ms Ashima Kathuria for the best performance of her class in AISSCE. The programme was followed by a sumptuous lunch organised by the management for the staff. It was truly a memorable day.

Report on Wild Wisdom Quiz

Wild Wisdom Quiz was organised in the school on September2, 2016.Students of III to V classes participated in Primary level category and students of VI to VIII classes participated in Middle level. The first two toppers from each category participated in the Wild Wisdom Quiz-City level on September26, 2016 at The Shri Ram School, Aravali , Hamilton Court Complex, Phase IV, DLF City, Gurgaon, Haryana- 122002. Students from different cities participated in the quiz. The students of our school learnt a lot about the wild life. They performed very well in the quiz. All the participants of our school were awarded with participation certificates, wrist bands; etc. Participating in such types of quiz was a great learning experience for the students.

SUBJECT MATTER - During Commerce Week, students of Classes XII C, D and E visited the Parle factory at Bahadurgarh in Haryana. The students were first shown a video giving details about the company, the various products manufactured, the production methodology, quality standards and the various awards felicitated to the company. It was then followed by an actual visit in the factory premises, wherein the students experienced the production and packing process followed in reality. They got a chance to understand the working of a factory and link theory with practical. Overall it was an enriching experience.

Report on Hiroshima Day Special Assembly

Hiroshima day is not a day of celebration, it is a day of remembrance. This somber observance is a reminder of a quarter of a million souls who have perished due to a single catostrophic explosion on a bright and beautiful sunny Monday morning of 6 August 1945 in Hiroshima, brought by an American nuclear attack- the day when the atomic bomb was dropped on the Japanese city of Hiroshima, followed by a few days later by another bomb dropping on the city of Nagasaki.

Hiroshima Day is now a focus for anti-war and anti-nuclear decisions and demonstrations, that is why, today a special assembly was organised to observe Hiroshima Day. In which we told news of Hiroshima Day and a very beautiful thought on the same to the students and at the end to check their knowledge about the Hiroshima Day, we took their test.

The school celebrated IT Week on the Theme "DIGITAL INDIA" form 25th July’16 to 29th July’16 . The week long celebration was based on the theme Digital India in which all the classes from I to XII performed different activities. The students enthusiastically participated in the activities and learned about the great use of technology in their life. Various workshops were also conducted during the week. The resource person, Kshitiz Adhlakha, informed students about the hazards of social media and made students aware about the cyber laws and security. The session was very interactive and enhanced their knowledge about the safety on internet. Students also learned about some new software like Scratch in which they can easily design a Game. YOGA DAY

Date : July 26, 2016

On July 26, at Maharaja Agrasen Model School, a Bharati Yoga Sansthan team led by Mr.Rajan Gupta began a yoga camp from classes 6th to 8th. The camp began when the head teacher Mr. Rajan Gupta told all students some interesting facts and advantages of yoga. He introduced the activity very interestingly followed by gayatri mantra. After this chant, the kids took part in one hour of yoga asanas, taught by Ms. Poonam kathuria and other volunteers . The practices such as palm tree pose and cobra posture started out simple. By the end of the class, children attempted more challenging postures like lolasana (swinging version of lotus pose), Setu Bandha Sarvangasana (bridge pose). All the children did pranayam and the session came to an end.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY ON LABOUR DAY

The school organised a special assembly on Labour Day to familiarize the students with the labour rights and importance of working classes. The assembly began with the prayer song by the school choir which was followed by pledge. It was followed by an article which highlighted how important labour rights are to maintain equality. The children of Vivekanand House also presented a play which emphasized on dignity and respect of labour. The play spread the message that people should be respected irrespective of what kind of work they do. The assembly ended with an inspiring note by respected Vice Principal, Ms Simmi Bhatia. She encouraged the children to follow the idols of Mahatma Gandhi.

Report on English Week

Maharaja Agrasen Model School, CD Block, Pitampura spearheaded the celebration of English Week from April 18 to April 23, 2016. Premised on the theme of outpouring hearts and minds through language proficiency, an array of activities were conducted to promote and appreciate the use of second language. The affair commenced with a special assembly highlighting the importance and role played by the global language. The concerted efforts of the teachers elevated the spirits of the students and helped them participate in the activities joyously. Various activities like Fancy Dress Competition, Poem Recitation, Collage Making, Spell Bee, Elocution, Role Play, Powerpoint Presentations, Advertisement Enactment, Radio Show and Article Writing were held during the week long celebrations to equip students with the skills of appreciation, understanding, analysing as well as acknowledging the indispensability of the English language in their daily life. April 22, 2016- the Earth Day- was celebrated commemorating a day to the support and concern for environmental protection. The students not only took interest in learning and mastering the queen’s language but gained confidence in displaying their freshly gained acumen.The entire week exhilarated students and teachers in generating innovation and creation through English language.

Commemorating a day to the benevolent Mother Earth that has been sustaining flora, fauna, beautiful landscapes and human species from time immemorial, Earth Day was celebrated by the enthusiastic students of Maharaja Agrasen Model School, CD Block, Pitampura. on April 22, 2016. The day commenced with a special assembly comprising of thought provoking quotes, informative articles and poems dedicated to our beautiful planet. Students also pledged to contribute towards preserving and conserving the self-sustaining planet. A skit titled ‘Save Trees Save Life’ depicting the dire need to protect the blue planet elicited raised eyebrows and proved to be an eye-opener. The day was speckled with a compendium of creative activities like Fancy Dress, Poem Recitation, Collage Making, Spell Bee and Elocution based on the theme ‘Let’s Save Our Planet’. A musical video ‘Going Green’ for classes PP-V invigorated the young minds towards the conservation of resources while a documentary and a trailer ‘The Crisis is Real’ from the movie The 11th Hour for classes VI-XII fortified the students towards heralding a greener future. The events of the day rekindled emotive concerns and instigated the youngsters to save all bountiful Mother Nature.

On World Heritage Day an inter class GK quiz was organized for class IV.
The participants had to go through four different rounds, general awareness,visual round, audio round and current affairs round. It was a Brain Storming session. The competitive spirits were nurtured by students of class 4 by loud cheering and clapping.
There were four teams named on famous monuments.
Team Colosseum comprised of Ujjawal Mittal and Riya Sharma of class 4A.
Team Petra comprised of Vaibhav Mittal and Piyush Raj Bansal of class 4B.
Team Christ the Redeemer comprised of Ekta Kumari and Tashvi Goyal of class 4C.
Team Taj Mahal comprised of Tanishqa Rajvanshi and Garv Bedi of class 4D.
Team Petra emerged as the winner of the competition.
The second position was taken by the team Taj Mahal followed by team Christ the Redeemer which stood third.

Trip to Jim Corbett National Park

73 students of class 12 and 5 teachers of our school went to Jim Corbett National Park . Students went for jeep safari to Jim Corbett National Park . There they observed many beautiful birds and animals and some of them also spotted Tiger’s pugmarks. Next they had adventurous activites in the resort . Children visited a museum followed by their visit to a nearby temple.
